3 Steps To Stronger, Longer, Healthier Lashes

Are your lashes getting thinner, shorter and more brittle, or just a little less luscious than they used to be?

Truth is, just like your skin and the hair on your head, your lashes age as you get older too. And they too need some TLC to keep them looking their best.

Read on for how to improve the health of you lashes PLUS stimulate lash growth for stronger, longer, fuller lashes... the natural way of course...

Why Are My Lashes Disappearing Before My Eyes?

As you get older, a few things happen to your lashes which can make them thinner, paler, shorter and more brittle...

1. Hormonal changes: The natural drop in oestrogen can slow or even halt the production of your lashes. This makes a big difference in their thickness, colour and length.

2. Natural oil reduction: Your body's oil production depletes, reducing the ability for your skin and hair to retain moisture; making them naturally much drier. And sadly this applies to your lashes too.

Take Note: If your eyelashes are drier and less luscious than they used to be, don’t panic, because a) it’s a perfectly normal ageing process, and b) we’ve rounded up three ways to improve the health of your lashes and help stimulate growth…

Rule #1: Avoid Rubbing Your Eyes, At All Costs

Your entire eye are is extremely thin and fragile. Not only does rubbing this delicate area stretch and pull the skin (hello fine lines and wrinkles!), but it also irritates and damages the eyelash follicles, potentially causing your lashes to fall out prematurely. Simple: don’t do it.

Fix This: When washing your eye area or removing eye make-up, go gently, never rubbing. Simply press a little eye make-up remover onto your eyes with a reusable cotton pad, then let it settle for several seconds before gently dabbing your make-up away.

FACT: Allowing your eye make-up remover to sit on your eyes for a good minute, before wiping it gently away helps to break it down, reducing the need to rub away at the delicate skin around your eyes.

Rule #2: Make Wise Mascara Choices

Mascara is a great way to temporarily make your eyelashes look darker, thicker and longer. But the truth is, not all mascara is created equally. Some can do more harm than good. And some can do a whole load of good! So take note...

FACT: Waterproof mascara is very drying on your lashes and requires a lot of effort to remove. Causing your lashes to become brittle and even fall out.

The Fix: Switch to a mascara that actually benefits your lashes and gives your desired look. Our NEW Organic Mascara is full of lash-loving ingredients like argan oil, jojoba oil, vitamin B7 and quinoa extract. Hydrating and strengthening the follicles, stimulating new growth and instantly lengthening and thickening your lashes.

Keep It 'Clean': Check your ingredients list for anything you choose to put on your eyes. Opt for natural and organic wherever possible to help protect this delicate area. Our NEW Organic Mascara is free of irritating parabens, sulphates and phenoxyethanol, making it a great choice for sensitive eyes.

Rule #3: Feed Your Lashes

It's a well known-fact that your skin, hair, lashes, all of you in fact, needs a varied and vitamin rich diet...

Vitamins C, E, B6 and B7 (biotin) are all fabulous for maintaining healthy lashes and encouraging new growth so make sure your diet is rich in all of these.

The best way to get these? Eat lots of nuts, seeds and fresh fruit and veg. Supplements specifically formulated for your hair, skin and nails can be a good option but most importantly try to get these directly from your diet.

Remember, your daily routine doesn’t begin and end with awesome facial skincare. Mother Nature's natural ageing process applies to your precious eyelashes too.

They need just as much care and attention to stay luscious and healthy, so you can look and feel as amazing as you deserve!

So go on, give your lashes a gorgeous self-care treat with our New Organic Mascara!
